Supplier Profile - Clare of Petal & Bird
Updated: Apr 27, 2020
In very strange times, we can all be thankful for the wonderful people around us who's support, positivity, humour and generous spirits are helping us through. I'm in the lucky position these days that I have a wide network of amazing wedding and events suppliers that I also count as friends, so I've decided to use part of my "non-baking" time to talk about these dedicated and creative people, and to share with you all what they do and who they are.
The first of these is an absolute sweetheart, Clare Davies. It's always a treat to see her. She never fails to make you feel happier after you've talked to her. Her business has built quickly as her creativity and attention to detail have been set free. She has taken a simple idea and elevated it to the point that she is streets ahead of anyone else. The quality of her work is just outstanding. Perfect for weddings, but also a great gift idea for anniversaries, birthdays, valentines, engagements... or just because.

What is your name? Clare Davies
What is your business name? Petal & Bird
What is your job title? Paper Florist
What services does your business provide?
I create bespoke paper flowers, handmade for your special occasion, working with
your colour themes. This allows you to have your favourite flowers during
any season, and to treasure them long after your special day.
I also specialise in recreating wedding bouquets that were originally
made with fresh flowers, bringing your wedding flowers back to life
with a realistic replica. It makes an absolutely perfect first year
‘paper’ wedding anniversary gift.

What is your "unique selling point"?
Allowing you to have your favourite flowers in any colours and lasting
to remember your special day.
What is your background?
My background is in Textiles Design which took me to teach art and
textiles for 11 years at a secondary school. My adventures into paper
flowers all started with my own wedding when I decided I didn’t want
the flowers from our special day to go to waste and die. I started
experimenting and fell in love with creating flowers from paper. My
bouquet stills looks beautiful nearly 4 years on.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
Bringing a couple’s wedding flowers to life and then seeing and
hearing about them in action on their special day.
